UT Paralegal Instructors - Nashville

Ben M. Rose is instructor for the UT Paralegal Certificate Program's 17-week core course.
A partner at Cornelius & Collins, LLP, Rose was born in Seymour, Tenn., on May 22, 1975. He joined the firm in 2003 as an associate and was named partner in 2009.
Rose received his Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, in political science and communications from The American University in Washington, D.C.
He received his juris doctorate degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law in Knoxville, where he was the recipient of the Charles H. Miller Award for Excellence in Civil Trial Advocacy and a member of the College of Law Speaker Series.
He has also taught at the College of Law as an adjunct professor of pre-trial litigation.
Prior to attending law school, Rose was a legislative assistant to two members of the United States House of Representatives.
Catherine (Cate) C. Dugan is instructor for the UT Paralegal Certificate Program's substantive course on contracts.
Dugan is an associate with Leitner, Williams, Dooley & Napolitan, PLLC, in Nashville.
Born in Lexington, Ky., Dugan graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in English literature from the University of Tennessee at Martin in 2001. She received her juris doctorate from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2004.
While a law student, Dugan served as an editor on the Tennessee Law Review, was the president of the Criminal Law Society, and coached Karns High School's mock trial team for two years.
Dugan is a member of the Nashville, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations.
Stephan D. Karr is instructor for the UT Paralegal Certificate Program's substantive course on torts.
Karr practices at Stillman & Friedland in Nashville and has litigated thousands of cases involving personal injury over the past 20 years. His skills of negotiation, arbitration, and his reputation of highly successful litigation make him especially talented at maximizing settlements and jury awards.
He is very personable and pursuasive before juries and judges. These attributes make him a very well respected and successful attorney in Tennessee, Maryland, and the District of Columbia.
Karr earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Vanderbilt University and a juris doctorate at the Nashville School of Law.
Karr is a member of the Nashville, Tennessee, and American Bar Associations.
