Meeting & Event Planning Professional Certificate

The University of Tennessee's non-credit Meeting & Event Planning Professional Certificate program is designed to help you start a career in the meeting and event planning business.

Learn how to plan and manage a flawless event with high standards to meet and exceed your client's goals.

Beginning in Winter 2010, students pursuing the certificate must complete:

Three required courses: Meeting & Event Planning Basics, Understanding Contracts for Event Planners, and Meeting & Event Planning Budgeting;

Two electives;

• Obtain 3 hours of fieldwork experience; and

• Complete a planning project.

Meeting & Event Planning Basics (Feb. 2 - April 13, 2010; $495)

Understanding Contracts for Event Planners (Feb. 6-13; $119)

Corporate Events, Conferences, Conventions/Trade Shows (Feb. 24 - March 3, 2010; $119)

Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) Preparation Course (March 6-13; $119)

Note: The UT Meeting & Event Planning Professional Certificate coursework is endorsed by the East Tennessee Meeting Professionals.

ETMP is an organization committed to education, career development, and developing business contacts for Meeting and Event Professionals in East Tennessee. The organization provides instruction and recommended coursework, student member discounts, and networking, internship, and mentoring opportunities for students.
