Marine Biology
(Grades 4-7, rising)

This week will highlight some of the spectacular planktonic, plant/algal, animal, and ecosystem diversity in our world’s oceans. Through creative exploration, problem solving, lecture instruction, and select video clips we will familiarize students with the ecological mechanisms, history, diversity, conservation, and utility of our world’s oceans. Students will participate in a group dissection of clams, starfish, and squid. Instructor: Jonathan Pruitt, Dept. of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology.
