As CMO of Lawrence Bros., LLC, Skip Lawrence is a member of the Nashville Downtown Partnership Residential Development Committee, The Civic Design Center, The Cumberland River Compact, Building Outside the Box, The Cumberland Region Tomorrow, the USGBC, Urban Land Institute, Southface Institute, EarthCarft House, and the Historic Germantown Development Committee.

Awards received include the 2007 Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Award for Building Green, the 2006 Tributarian Award for protecting the Cumberland River watershed, Nashville Chamber of Commerce Beatification Award and Metropolitan Historic Commission Preservation Awards.

The Lawerence Bros. have also won the “USGBC's 2007 Green Star Award" in the Residential Contribution category "For excellence and devotion to high performance sustainable building practices in Middle Tennessee."

He is a trainer for the Cumberland Region Tomorrow Smart Growth Tool Box program, presenter to the Tennessee Conservation Smart Growth Committee, select host to the EPA’s national and regional administrators’ award presentation for Advancing Green Building and Protecting the Cumberland Basin, Committee Chairman of the 2006 Annual Fundraiser for the Cumberland River Compact, Board member of the Cumberland River Compact and the Nashville Jazz Workshop.

Under his leadership, Lawrence Bros., LLC, has built 100% EarthCraft and Energy Star certified homes since 2005. As of 2007 all homes are on track to be 100% certified LEED Platinum or Gold.
