Mike Leonard is an architect with Thomas, Miller & Partners (TMP) in Brentwood, Tenn., and a co-founding member and Chairman of the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) Middle Tennessee Chapter. As an associate with TMP, Mike leads the firm’s efforts in implementing sustainable design principles, and manages the certification process for projects pursuing LEED green building certification.

As one of the first architects in Tennessee to become a LEED Accredited Professional, Mike managed the design for NASA’s first LEED certified building; a five-story office building in Huntsville, Ala. Completed in 2004, this was the first LEED certified building for NASA. He has since advised and consulted on a variety of project types in pursuit of green building certification.

Mike also serves on the Board of the Nashville Construction Specifications Institute (CSI). He received the Environmental Stewardship Award from CSI in 2005, and has spoken on the topic of sustainable design and LEED certification at several local and national conferences and conventions.

Mike holds a bachelor’s degree in urban and regional planning and a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Illinois.
