Students should have at least U.S. $10,080.00 for academic and living expenses for two terms. Married students should have additional funds for spouse’s and children’s living expenses. Amounts may vary considerably depending on student life styles. All checks must be payable to The University of Tennessee on a U.S. dollar bank account (current exchange rate table). All fees must be paid on the first day of the term by cash, personal check, traveler’s check, or credit card. The University accepts Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.
Transfer of Funds
Because tuition must be paid on the first day of ELI registration, every student should have the necessary funds available in U.S. dollars. The Institute recommends that students purchase traveler’s checks and/or consult their local bank about a safe, efficient way to transfer funds so that money is available when they arrive in Knoxville. Students should not carry large sums of cash.
