UPDATED from UT Conferences – February, 2021

Last summer due to COVID-19, we could not host any summer events or conferences on campus. For the summer of 2021, we will be able to host events again but because of COVID-19, we will have some limitations in place.

We cannot accommodate any events that require overnight lodging on campus or off campus for Summer 2021. The prevention measures needed for events that require overnight lodging are beyond our available resources this summer.

Events in which participants can commute from home are allowed. We are glad to have events back on campus this summer in some capacity during the pandemic, and we will work with you to meet your needs.  Please feel free to contact us at (865) 974-0280 or by email conferences@utk.edu.

The University of Tennessee is closely monitoring the current coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. University leaders are working closely with government and public health agencies and continue to follow guidelines from the U.S. Department of State, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and the World Health Organization.

Please note that some of our team are working in the office and some are working remotely to encourage social distancing and minimize the number of people on campus in response to COVID-19. These are temporary measures, as we are continuously monitoring this public health crisis, and will evaluate changes as the situation develops. We are ready and available to assist you with any questions or concerns by phone at 865-974-0280 or by email conferences@utk.edu .

The health and safety of your participants and staff continue to be our top priority along with the greater University of Tennessee community. Considering the ever-changing data, the University may alter or suspend programs at any point in the future and restrict participants who have traveled to or from affected areas. Since August 1, we have been hosting groups of 50 or less. Please contact us if your group is over 50, as we may be able to obtain special exception to host your event. We are excited to welcome you back to Campus and the Conference Center.  Visitors to the UT Conference Center should follow the guidelines linked on the side menu under “Conference Center Visitor Guidelines”.

If you decide to suspend or cancel your program, please contact us directly so that we can discuss specifics on the cancellation policy described in our agreement. We would also encourage you to consider a Virtual or Hybrid Event, as we launched a virtual event platform earlier this year that enables management of both fully virtual and hybrid conferences and events with highly interactive functionality.

We will continue to update you and your program as we receive additional information. Please continue to monitor your email. For more information about the University of Tennessee operations and efforts, please visit utk.edu/coronavirus.

We ask and encourage you to share this message with your organization. If you have any questions, please contact us directly at conferences@utk.edu.

All visitors of the Conference Center must complete the Visitor Health Screening Form EACH DAY they will visit the Conference Center.  Please click the Visitor Health Screening Form link on the side menu to complete the form.
