Facilities: Multimedia Computer Training Breakouts

The UT Conference Center features two state-of-the-art multimedia computer labs. Check out our Technical Specifications.

Equipped with state of the art IBM brand computers, both of our computer labs run the latest operating systems software - including DOS and Microsoft Windows. We offer standard software other labs charge extra for: Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Powerpoint, Lotus 123 and Notes. If you have problems finding an instructor for your computer sessions, let us help. We have an entire University to ask.

Each of 12 student workstations in each lab enjoys full multimedia equipment - stereo sound cards with comfortable headsets and boom microphones let your guests experience the sounds of your work, while acess to high speed CD-ROM playback systems makes graphics-intensive work easy and fast.

Comfortable, ergonomically adjustable furniture keeeps your guests comfortable. Your instructor's computer screen can be displayed via two huge Mitsubishi digital high resolution monitors in each lab, including a 37" display at the front of the room and another 29" display halfway back accomodating guests seated in the rear of the room.

Network Connectivity

Computer networking is a University of Tennessee specialty - our fully interconnected computer labs have direct addresses on the global internet like corporate mainframes. If local area networks are your need, our two labs share a dedicated Novell Netware file server operated by a team of Certified Novell Administrators, providing nearly unlimited shared disk space and connectivity for your presenters' most demanding software.

Portable Computer Service

If you need just one computer instead of a whole lab, we have high-performance rental computers (IBM and Macintosh brand) as laptops or on roll around carts, complete with printers and connectivity equipment.
